Every migration project has to start with a very thorough test of the organisations current applications to establish which are likely to be able to be deployed in the new environment.
Here you want to know which applications can be deployed without further work, which cannot be deployed, which could be deployed with some form of remediation. A large organisation might have upwards of 5000 applications to test. This is conventionally an onerous manual process that can take up to a year or more .
